Below you will find resources for filing your own tax return.  If you would rather someone help you prepare your taxes and file it for you then click here.  

  • I-CAN!E-File.  I-CAN!E-FileTM will help you do your taxes for free, and it's easy to do.  You don't need to be a computer expert, either.  Just answer a few questions at the icanefile.org website and I-CAN will prepare your tax forms for youl.  If you do not have a computer and internet access available to use I-CAN, try visiting your local public library.

    • Who Qualifies to Use I-CAN:  You can generally use I-CAN!™ E-file UNLESS you have a foreign address, own a business, are a church employee or clergy member, or sold real estate in 2007. If you are in the military or you are disabled you may be eligible for tax credits that are not included in I-CAN!™ E-file.

       

  • IRS Free File.  IRS Free File allows on-line federal income tax preparation and e-filing through a partnership agreement between the IRS and members of the tax software industry.  Some vendors also offer free state tax filing services as well.  Click here to access the IRS Free File website.   

    • Who Qualifies to Use IRS Free File:  Anyone with an Adjusted Gross Income (AGI) of $54,000 or less may use this free service.  Some of the IRS Free File software companies have additional requirements so read the instructions carefully.  And, not all of the IRS Free File vendors offer free state tax filing.
